Congratulations to Noushin Omidvar for successfully passing the doctoral qualifying exam and ascending to PhD candidacy! She is working on modeling electrode-electrolyte interfaces in Li-ion batteries.
Congrats to Jiamin Wang who just received the poster award at the SUNCAT Summer Institute 2017 at Stanford University. She presented her work on developing large-scale nonadiabatic molecular dynamics enabled by machine learning.
Congrats to Siwen who received the travel award from the NSF to attend the World Congress of Chemical Engineering at Barcelona, 2017. The National Science Foundation, though their Program of Process Systems, Reaction Engineering and Molecular Thermodynamics of the Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport Systems, has provided a travel grant for young professors, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows affiliated with Chemical Engineering departments in the United States in order to attend the World Congress of Chemical Engineering (WCCE), October 1-5, 2017, in Barcelona, Spain.
Zheng Li, and Siwen Wang presented their research at 25th North American Catalysis Society Meeting, Denver, 2017.
Welcome to Emily Marx and Junwei Luo as the REU (NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates) students in Xin Group for summer research. Emily is working on geometric effects of Copper catalysts in CO2 electroreduction using quantum chemical calculations and machine learning. Junwei is working on early transition metal nanocatalysts for N2 reduction.
Welcome Dr. Liang Yu joining our group as a postdoctoral research fellow! He will be working on Metal-Organic Framework catalysis.
In a recent publication, we proposed a new model to unravel reactivity trends of Au nanoparticles. Read press release at VT News and Phys.org.
Congratulations to Siwen Wang for receiving the Kokes Travel Award to present her work at the NAM25 in Jun. 2017.
